The Lydiard lacing system is a great way to lace your shoes for optimal performance. It takes the pressure off of the metatarsals on the top of your foot by loosening the shoe without taking away mobility. Follow this link to learn how to lace your training and racing shoes the Lydiard way. Try it and you will never go back to the traditional cross style.

This way of lacing your shoes is amazing. It truly does keep you injury free. It takes the pressure off your feet, but it also takes the pressure off your shins, which also takes pressure off your knees. I have used this lacing for numerous athletes I have coached, and it always seems to help drastically. It's amazing that shoe companies don't catch onto this and come out with shoes laced as such.
