Protect That Groin

Several boys and girls wear boxers under their running shorts when training and/or racing. Although this may feel comfortable, it does not give the groin enough support, which can lead to a groin strain, or even worse, a hernia. Both of these injuries take a long time to recover from. The easiest way to support your groin while running is to wear underwear that is snug, but not too tight. Make sure the underwear you choose is flexible as well. If you want to look outside your dresser drawer for supportive running underwear, two places, out of many, to look are Brooks Runderwear and Road Runner Sports Brief. Your local running shoe store should also carry a brand or two of supportive running underwear.
